🎈 Basically Balloons – Balloon Care Guide 1. General Care Balloons are delicate – avoid sharp objects, rough handling, or extreme pressure. Keep balloons indoors in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Avoid placing balloons near ceiling fans, heaters, or air conditioning vents. This also include sky light windows and bi folds door. Balloons should not be stored in cars or outbuildings due to varying temepratures Balloons are for decorative purposes only and are not toys. 2. Latex Balloons Latex balloons are biodegradable but will shrink and oxidise (develop a cloudy look) over time. Avoid exposure to sunlight or high heat to slow down oxidation. Average float time (helium-filled): 8–12 hours for standard latex, or up to 3 days with a treatment like Hi-Float. For best results, collect your balloons as close to your event time as possible. 3. Foil (Mylar) Balloons Foil balloons can last up to a week or more indoors. They are sensitive to temperature changes – in cold rooms, balloons may appear deflated but will re-expand when warmed. Do not release foil balloons outdoors – they can cause power outages and are harmful to wildlife. 4. Outdoor Use Weather can affect balloons dramatically – wind, rain, and sun can shorten their life. Helium expands in heat, which can cause balloons to pop; in cold weather, they may appear deflated. Outdoor setups are not guaranteed to last as long as indoor ones. 5. Safety Never inhale helium – it can cause suffocation and is potentially fatal. Keep balloons and accessories away from small children. Uninflated or burst balloons can be a choking hazard – dispose of broken pieces immediately. Balloon ribbons can cause strangulation – supervise children at all times. Many balloon displays are constructed with invisible nylon or fishing line – avoid touching or pulling displays. 6. After Your Event Pin it & Bin it – burst balloons with a pin and dispose of them responsibly. Recycle or repurpose decorative items where possible. Foil balloons should be deflated and disposed of in general waste (do not release outdoors). 7. If There’s a Problem All balloons leave our premises in perfect condition. Balloons are perishable – we cannot guarantee longevity once they leave our care. If you believe there is an issue, contact us immediately so we can assist.
